There are many things that seek to get our attention—some we might label as important, others we know are not. Between our jobs, our families, our hobbies, and everything else, it is too easy to get our priorities misplaced and lose sight on what is truly important.

That’s why at St. John we strive to keep Jesus and his cross as our focus. For it is Jesus who paid for our sins by offering up his life on the cross and suffering the eternal punishment that we deserve. Three days after his death he rose victorious from the dead and he gives that victory to us. Because of Jesus' perfect life, his perfect death and his resurrection from the dead we know that our sins have been forgiven, the Lord declares us not guilty, and we will live in heaven forever with our Lord.

The Bible tells us that Jesus alone is the way to eternal life in heaven as Jesus clearly states this about himself, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.” (John 14:6). We pray that you would join us in focusing our attention on Jesus, his cross, and his resurrection so that we together may dwell in his eternal home of heaven.
